The Northeastern Poultry Congress is pleased to announce the

Clarion Hotel and Conference Center as our host hotel for our BIG National Show !  The hotel is located 3.5 miles from the show hall.   The Clarions special poultry rates are 89.00 for single / double. 

The Clarion is a site for sore eyes in January with its tropical theme.  The hotel features an indoor heated pool surrounded by huge Ficus trees.  Next to the pool is a cabana bar and restaurant.  The pool area is ringed by hotel rooms.  These rooms are really popular with our regular exhibitors as they just leave the doors open for visitors to come and go as they please.  A.k.a.; it’s a party ! 

Parents just love this arrangement.  They can let the kids loose and keep an eye on them at the same time.  Or they can sip a drink by the pool while the kids use up all the rest of their energy. 

There are two restaurants and two bars at the Clarion.  Last year our beloved cabana bar was closed for renovations.  This year I expect I will order a drink with an umbrella to honor this special show !  We staffers are going to need one at any rate. 

The street the hotel is located on also has many other good restaurants as well.   Including the clubs favorite spot; Cal’s Wood Fired Grill and Bar which has decent seafood.  The possibilities of hooking up with friends is limitless at the Poultry Congress.  I am telling you this is going to be a GOOD TIME. 

If you like a quite room that’s not a problem at the Clarion either.  There are hotel rooms in the rear of the facility.  Just be sure to ask for one of the quite spaces.

In the morning the Clarion offers a complimentary hot breakfast for each adult.  If you’re like me you can indulge in two breakfasts.  A free one at the hotel and a second one at the show hall !

There are a TON of other places to say in the Springfield area.  Most of them are with in 5 miles of the show hall.  I have done some quickie checking and the other hotels seem to be in the 110.00 range.  This makes the Clarion not only a nice place for a host hotel, it’s the best deal as well. 

Not to mention The Northeastern Poultry Congress will be holding a social hour for our exhibitors at the Clarion on Saturday eve !  Its just another chance to see old friends and make new ones. 

Some of the best opportunities I have had in my life to learn more about chickens have actually been after dinner at a two day show.  Heck I am still thinking about the things I learned at Crossroads. 

I guess my point is that the Clarion makes sense socially and monetarily.  I can honestly say it’s the place to be !  Oh, did I mention its got a sauna ?

The Northeastern Poultry Congress is located in West Springfield Mass at the Big E Fairgrounds.  The Dates of the show are January 16th – 17th 2010.  This is a special weekend as its Martin Luther King weekend and many of us have the Monday following the show off from work.  It’s a perfect weekend for a show !!

So come on out to the Congress friends !  Just try to beat us; you may find the competition in New England is much more fierce than you realized !
